I have been with the VA in El Paso for 16 years (I live in Alpine) it got to the point that I could not contact anyone most times and when I did, they didn't speak English, all my care givers were Nigerians, Somalians and people from the Middle East and I couldn't communicate as I need new Hearing Aids an spent over a year trying to get them.

Overall Assessment, everyone there treated me courteously, professionally and respectfully. I took me most of that hour and a half to get them to stop calling me Mr. Wilson (That was my Dad). Several of them even stopped what they were doing to guide me to my next stop (the place is a huge maze).

Long story short; I spent an hour and a half at the Big Spring VA (Last Wednesday) and now have all my Meds, new hearing aids and an appointment with a Primary for next week.

Unfortunately, I can only give this place 1 star but it does not deserve even that star. I have not been able to reach anyone via telephone. I have left messages for a Morgan Little who probably does not exist or is just sitting around on Facebook not answering or returning calls. The receptionist is as clueless as I am about the place and I had to drive there to see and speak to anyone. It seems like no one works on Mondays, Fridays, and weekends because phone calls go unanswered and staff is working a skeleton crew. I went to visit a family member and the Veterans were soiled, rooms were messy, and nurses were sitting around talking. How dare they treat our Veterans this way when these Veterans made the ultimate sacrifice. The lazy staff have their FREEDOM and a JOB taking care of these men and women and I question whether they are grateful or deserving. I'm appalled at the conditions, the staff (or lack of), and the poor attitudes. There needs to be some positivity and some housecleaning.

Has always treated me in professional manner. Could use more doctors and people to man the phones. I haven't had a problem with people contacting me though when it comes to scheduling or reminding me about upcoming appointments.

The shops and small starbucks inside the va hospital are a great addition and make people feel more at home

I'd give them 10 stars if I could, especially the young man at the desk across from the Audiology clinic, he made sure I got service and walked me to the Pharmacy for my meds.

One of the worst VA's I have ever dealt with. PISS POOR AND INCOMPENTENT STAFF!!!!

The Young Lady in the Audiology clinic chased me down to try and fix my old one, when that became glaringly impossible, she rigged up a loaner, El Paso could take some lessons from Big Spring.

Thank you all
