We did not stay at the Hotel, but we had Dinner at the Grill. After Visiting the place I wish I had stayed. The place is absolutely fantastic. The Dinner we had was some of the best food I have had in Years. Beats many of the Big City Restaurants by far. The Crab Cakes are to die for. The service staff was fantastic. After Dinner we had cocktails in the Bar. It's a very relaxing atmosphere. I will stop there again when in the area. You should too..
I have asthma and am allergic to feathers. I called the day before to request a feather free room. Being in a room with feathers could have me ending up in the ER. When I arrived all of the pillows were feathers as well as a down comforter. I put all of them in the hall and went back to the front desk and asked to have them changed out. Went to eat at the restaurant in the hotel and returned to my room. Still no replacements. I went back to the lobby and the girl at the desk said she had called her manager and was told that everything was fine. I told her I needed non-feather pillows and a blanket. Had to call back down to ask when they would arrive as it is now getting late. She finally showed up with 1 pillow and another feather/down comforter. I asked her for at least 1 more pillow, but she said her manager wasn't answering the phone and she didn't know where to get any more pillows. About 30 minutes later she called back and said her manager said only the housekeepers knew where the pillows were and that the manager would contact me tomorrow. I am checking out tomorrow and will never stay here again!
Beautifully renovated historic hotel but the restaurant is not up to the standard that the hotel deserves but the bar does! The bar is called The Pharmacy so don't be misled.
Absolutely gorgeous hotel, amazing food foods a bit over priced but totally worth it, the staff is great and friendly, particularity the bar staff Anna and Josh. We stayed 2 nights the first night was in a 12th floor room absolutely gorgeous room, the second we wanted to stay in a historic room.......tiny and besides the bathroom isnt 1930s at all ( the historic rooms r suppose to be refurbished to how they were in the 30s) spend the few extra dollars for a room above the 5th floor totally worth it, I will absolutely stay here again very soon and will be a regular visitor to the bar and grill.
I liked the place. Very historic. Would've given 5 Stars but the water got shutoff Sunday Morning until 11am. So we waited until then so we could shower. Called in a late check-out bc of that reason and we still had the maid service walk-in on us twice after 11am. Overall it was a nice hotel
